Recently had my grid heater replaced due to check engine light and air intake code. Today I started the truck and the heater came on before start and then threw a check engine light. Took it to the dealer and they checked it out, and was the same code as before when the grid heater was replaced.The code is from the relay unplugged. The ECM is not seeing the relay. Try disconnecting the main power cable for the relay instead. The relay will still work. Just no longer supply power to the grid heater. I see no sensors for the grid heater circuit. See what you if any code you get after restoring the relay. Tom.Pulled the power lead from the heater and reset power loop with ~12V showing for the circuit to the heater without heater in the loop. So, it seems the heater itself is toasted out. Next i will attempt to test the heater, any suggestion other than be careful if it works it will get hot. I deleted mine and two days later, I had a Check engine light. It was for the air intake heater, so I erased the code, installed a load resistor and yet have the CEL come back on.
